“Please don’t use plastic, it’s not sexy…” by Cecilie

Cecile is a very positively-charged and enthusiastic lecturer. Her eyes actually twinkle when she speaks!   I mean, she made us sing and perform “head, shoulders, knees and toes” at the beginning of the class, what more can I say…

Reading a part of our module book—which she made into a more reader-friendly version. How sweet.

In her lecture she talked about the importance of a good presentation—hence the title. She was suggesting, in her own way, that there are other ways to showcase our work than using the classic black portfolios folders. We can use special and exciting ways to show the level of our creativity—be it a publication, a professional packaging, or an actual 3D object/product.

She then showed us the blog that she’s created for us, including a number of interesting and inspiring artists.

We also did a trial-run of showcasing our work to each other, and giving positive (only!) feedback, which was quite a good-feeling exercise.

At the end, she talked about the power of visual artists, and how the projects we choose can positively affect the world—or not. The choice is all ours.

A great lecture indeed!
