HotHouse talk—”Become an expert” by Paul Jenkins

Paul gave a great talk. Instead of just showing the work that he’d done, he gave plenty of tips and advice, as well as three real examples of his commissions, including the process.

He was very relaxed and humble, and seemed very passionate about his work. Covering areas such as design, branding, curation, educational design, photography, social media work, and more; and working with brands such as Nike, Selfridges, Footlocker, Boots and Speedo; he really is a highly experienced professional. And, getting his first big commission while only in second year of university, he’s a great inspiration to us all.

The summary of his advice was: immerse yourself, collaborate, create, edit…

…and also: brief is important (develop it, test it, improve it).

I hope we have more guest talks like that in the future.
