In today’s afternoon class, we’ve looked at the New Blood briefs for the Design Competition module, and brainstormed some ideas to get us started. It was very helpful, and made the briefs more easy to understand.
Today we were lucky enough to spend some time on the JKR Agency in Camden, which has been going for some twenty-six years. It’s a pretty large company, employing over a hundred people.
Today we went to the Camden Market to get some brand inspiration. The idea was to check signs, banners, logos, and any other promotion applications.
Russell has been around for a while. With a specialization in illustration, he graduated in 2003, and completed his MA in 2005. Russell is an unassuming guy with a great sense of humour. In fact, it seems that humour is the main ingredient of his success.
Sara has a thing for type, which she manages to put across really well when speaking about it. She has given us this lecture once before, but hearing it again is definitely not a wasted time.
In this class Ricardo has directed our attention to how brands present themselves through the imagery. We looked for photography, layouts, texture, composition, colour, and other aspects of images in the output of a few companies that we chose. We worked in groups, divided by the briefs that we working on.
Last Friday Sara has talked to us about ‘The new Blood’ competition, which is run each year.
