Today I have finally came around to starting doing the research for my project, which so far seems to be settled on the topic of ‘Illustration Festival’. However, I’m considering adding ‘print’ to the name (Illustration & Print Festival), and incorporating simple printing techniques into the workshops schedule.
Out of the three choices that I researched, I’ve decided to go with the ‘yoga cafe’.
After arriving to my first intern session, and finding out that the tutor is not turning up due to an illness, I decided to pop into the Whitechapel gallery to contribute to our brief for the Design Competition module.
In this exercise we were basically brainstorming ideas for ‘good causes’ for cafes. We were working in a group, and has to come up with twelve ideas at least, and hopefully each one of us would take an idea and later develop it further.
Two days ago Katherina Tudball came to do a lunch break talk at the university. I found it very inspiring, as she is working within the sector that I’m most interested in at the moment. She is person who managed to accomplish quite a lot in her career so far—working for and with some big names within the design industry.
In today’s class we have started doing research about our chosen ‘cafe cause’.
A few seconds before publishing the last post I already knew that I won’t be going further with any of the ideas, and especially not the ‘chosen’ one. The only board that I actually like is chess, and seeing the photos of ‘board gamers’ makes me want to run.
