Today has started extra early, as we had to prepare for a badge making and rise printing workshop.
On this day we have discussed the badge making workshop coming up during the Summer Show—aspects such as frequency and duration, price of the badges, number of students helping, what background or designs will provided for the participants to choose from, and which media will be available for use in order to create the badges.
Today we’ve visited the new space in Central House (10min from our campus) that is supposing to be our Summer Show section. The HotHouse area would be downstairs, right by the entrance. It was probably the best place to be. This would mean that we can be seen from the outside, and also that we will be the first point of meeting for the visitors.
At the very beginning of today’s workday we all did the presentation of our blogs and sketchbooks to ensure that we are documenting our intern hours properly.
Today’s session was very interesting. We had Alistair Hall taking us through the current visual branding of all the areas of the London Met, The Cass, and the HotHouse.
The task of the day was to decorate the corridor walls for the upcoming open day. We needed to source these from the students’ sketchbooks and blogs.
This day was mainly about preparing for the Saturday university open day aimed at the future students. We have discussed the options of an activity for the students to do while waiting for their interview, which would also be used on the HotHouse Instagram feed. The top three ideas were badges making, riso prints, and logo making.
